She slips these into his drink and watches over him as he rests. Though Kate had good intentions, drugging someone is never okay. This situation is never discussed again but this doesn't seem like something with which Jack would be okay. For the betterment of the group, Jack and Locke decide to lock-up all of the guns in their possession. Sawyer is not happy with this decision and decides to launch an elaborate con to get the guns back. He made several shady decisions throughout the course of his con but what stands out most is the way he manipulated Kate.

He convinces her that Ana-Lucia is behind this ploy, redirecting attention away from himself. After securing the guns, he is quick to rub his victory in everyone's face. Kate is furious and confronts Sawyer asking him why he did this. This betrayal should keep Kate from trusting Sawyer, yet somehow they enter into a relationship repetitively soon after.

Mistrust can ruin any relationship.
